This series shows beautiful women with a tradesman in a square inset.  The series is not listed in Kuniyoshi by Basil William Robinson (Victoria and Albert Museum, London, 1961).  The prints are each about 14 by 10 inches (36 by 25 centimeters), a size known as ôban.

 

 

Time: Eight o’clock in the morning (Hi itsutsu no toki)

Tradesman: Flower seller

Beauty: Woman eating from a bowl

 

 

 

Time: Noon (Hi kokonotsu no toki)

Tradesman: Fishmonger with a dog

Beauty: Woman playing with a cat

 

 

 

Time: Four o’clock in the afternoon (Hi nanatsu no toki)

Tradesman: Water seller

Beauty: Woman reading at a portable desk
